GUIDE / MEDIC ROLE

A WARDOGS Medic loadout that keeps the squad moving.

Medic value comes from repeatable revives and safe movement, not from filling every slot with the most expensive medical item.

What is this page?

Start with one reliable medical action, one way to create cover, and enough reserve to rebuild. In the current reported catalogue, an entry kit can be Bandage ($200) + Field Resuscitator ($500) + Light Armor ($400) + Basic Parachute ($100), about $1,200 before weapon and ammo. Upgrade to a Defibrillator or Medical Bag only when the squad and objective justify the extra risk.

Who it is for

  • Players who want to support a squad without buying a premium life every round
  • Medic mains comparing revive utility with reserve cash
  • Squads that need a practical fallback kit for recovery runs

How to use it

  1. Choose the action you need to repeat: quick heal, revive, smoke crossing, or full casualty recovery.
  2. Buy the smallest medical item that completes that job.
  3. Add light protection and mobility before expensive upgrades.
  4. Use the calculator to confirm the reserve after weapon, ammo, and attachments.
  5. Upgrade medical reach only after the team is consistently converting revives into progress.

Three Medic budgets.

The right tier depends on the job, not the label. Build the entry kit when learning a map, the support kit when the squad needs safe crossings, and the recovery kit when you can protect a larger reserve.

  • Entry / recovery: Bandage + Field Resuscitator + Light Armor + Basic Parachute ≈ $1,200 before weapon and ammo.
  • Support: add M18 Smoke Grenade: White ($100) and carry a Medical Bag ($2,000) only when repeated casualty recovery is part of the plan.
  • High-commitment recovery: swap to a Defibrillator ($1,600) when the team can create a safe revive window; do not buy it just because it is available.

Triage order during a run.

A Medic loses value when the revive itself becomes a second casualty. Stabilize the route, create cover, then decide whether the downed player is reachable without spending the whole reserve.

  • Create a smoke or hard-cover window before crossing an exposed body.
  • Use the cheapest effective medical action first; save the long-recovery item for a high-value, safe revive.
  • If the zone or enemy angle is not controlled, reset and preserve the kit rather than forcing a trade.
  • After the action, note what was actually used so the next loadout is based on receipts, not memory.

When not to buy the expensive medical item.

A Medical Bag or Defibrillator is a multiplier only when teammates survive long enough to use it. If the squad is still learning the route, light protection, smoke, and a cheap revive option usually create more repeatable value per dollar.

Limitations

  • Medical, gear, and smoke values are reported community snapshots unless marked otherwise.
  • The calculator totals item prices but does not simulate revive range, cooldown, carry weight, or team positioning.
  • A successful revive depends on zone control and squad timing, not only the selected item.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest practical Medic kit?

The reported entry example is Bandage, Field Resuscitator, Light Armor, and Basic Parachute, about $1,200 before the weapon and ammunition. Verify the live vendor before relying on that total.

Is a Defibrillator better than a Medical Bag?

They solve different jobs. Use the Defibrillator when a fast high-value revive is the priority; use the Medical Bag when the squad expects repeated recovery. The current page does not claim a universal winner.

Should a Medic carry smoke every run?

Smoke is a cheap way to create a revive window, but the need depends on the route and objective. Add it when your team repeatedly crosses exposed ground.
